Aon Limited, the insurance broker, risk management and human capital consulting firm, has formed its new counter-terrorism and political risk team, created from the fusion of its terrorism risk and political risk teams.

The decision to merge the two teams was taken following a consultation process both internally and with clients and will strengthen the service we provide to clients world-wide.

As part of the creation of the new team, Aon Counter Terrorism and Political Risk will also be reviewing its client servicing arrangements. From now on, clients will have a single point of contact across Aon Special Risk’s product range, meaning that clients will have easier access to the whole range of expertise available across the business.

Peter Dobbs, chairman of Aon Special Risks, comments, “We have a great team in place to take us forward, and our determination to grow means that there will be more career opportunities for our staff to develop their careers. I am looking forward to working with our clients and our new team, creating the best solutions available for our clients” terrorism and political risks needs.”

Peter Dobbs will head up the new team, and will be responsible for business strategy. Paul Bassett, who will have responsibility for marketing, placing business and consulting, will be joined by Dennis Parker, responsible for new acquisitions and product development, and Peg Jones, who is responsible for administration, business process and compliance. An executive of senior representatives from across the Counter Terrorism and Political Risk businesses will be responsible for implementing strategy and leading operations.
