Truett Tate is joining Lloyds TSB in London at the end of the year. Tate will be based in London as managing director of Lloyds TSB Corporate Bank. He takes the place of Michael Riding, who is retiring and staying on as a consultant for a year.

Tate joins from Citibank, via a spell at a dotcom business. “This sends a big statement to the trade finance and corporate world as to how Lloyds is planning to expand,” according to one inside source.

Most recently Tate was president and COO of Encorus Technologies (2002-03) and president and COO of eChange Corp before that (1999-2001). He was also co-founder and vice-chairman of Chase Cost Management between 1996 and 2003.

Before that, he spent 28 years at Citibank. Tate was world corporate group division executive in Hong Kong, then London, then Frankfurt. From 1996-97 he was customer group executive, global relationaship bank. Between 1997-99 he was customer group executive (Germany/US) and global relationship bank marketing director, based in New York.
