Lebanese commercial bank BBAC has upgraded its tech systems with Misys’s BankFusion Equation and Opics Plus.

The bank has been a Misys customer since 1994 and chose to review all other options on the market before returning to its trusted technology provider.

“Over the past few months we have been evaluating a number of solutions to optimise our operations and reduce costs. We decided to be objective and consider other vendors as well [as Misys],” notes BBAC chairman Ghassan Assaf.

“Misys proved to be the best option for us with the ground-breaking BankFusion technology matching our future needs. We expect the solution to prevent human errors and speed up transactions and are looking forward to passing on the benefits to our customers,” Assaf adds.

The BankFusion Equation system provides re-usable components designed to cover a number of banking instruments including treasury and trade services.

The Opics Plus technology is an internet-based treasury and capital markets solution which integrates the front and back office in processing across a number of assets, including treasury trades among others.

“The bank will have access to our cutting-edge technologies that continue to set us apart from our competitors and builds a great foundation for their future growth,” says Roy Froud, director for Middle East and Africa at Misys.
