Dubai Ports World (DPW) has received approval from the Yemeni government to start developing the Port of Aden.

DPW will develop the port’s infrastructure, including rehabilitating the free zone warehouses, constructing a dry dock for ship servicing and an air freight base at Aden airport. The investments have been projected at US$370mn.

DPW, the world’s seventh largest ports operator, said it would be committed to raise the number of containers handled at Port of Aden to 3.5mn, within three years of the start of its work.
