Volga-Dnepr Group and Vnesheconombank, one of Russia’s oldest financial institutions, have concluded an agreement regarding financing arrangements for the resumption of AN-124-100 aircraft production and the IL-76 freighter modernisation programme.
The cooperation agreement was signed in Moscow by Vladimir Dmitriyev, chairman of Vnesheconombank, and Alexey Isaikin, president of Volga-Dnepr Group and provides for long-term cooperation between the two companies.
It is planned to involve the bank’s representatives in the financial analysis for Volga-Dnepr Group’s projects. Vnesheconombank also intends to assist in arranging financing of the projects and act as a guarantor on mutually agreed conditions.
As a specialist governmental financial institute, Vnesheconombank participates in the realisation of a large number of projects in Russia and overseas.
Volga-Dnepr is a market leader in the global movement of heavyweight and outsized air cargo, controlling 54% market share in 2004.
Among its permanent customers are such companies as Lockheed Martin, Exxon Mobil, Alcatel Aerospace and many other top global businesses that see Volga-Dnepr as an integral part of their logistic chains.
Volga-Dnepr has a fleet of 10 AN-124-100s, three IL-76s and six YAK-40s. Its scheduled cargo airline business, AirBridge Cargo, also operates two Boeing 747-200s. Volga-Dnepr Group employs more than 1,700 people of 20 nationalities.
