Bank of Ireland (BOI) has appointed Philip Smith as head of trade finance.

Smith has been with BOI for more than six years, and was previously associate director for trade finance, responsible primarily for BOI’s Russian and Indian overseas markets.

He has replaced Tom Turney who left the bank in February.

Smith comments: “The future looks very bright for BOI and its trade finance business. We have ambitious plans, a strong client base and a dedicated and innovative approach to trade finance.”
