Supply chain business simulation firm Involvation Interactive is launching its Cool Connection workshop at GTR Asia‘s trade finance week in Singapore on September 3-5.

The Cool Connection aims to connect the physical and financial supply chain through a series of interactive workshops, with participants performing different management roles to experience sales, purchasing, finance and supply chain management. The programme highlights the links between supply chain topics such as service level, delivery methods, production intervals and warehousing and financial topics such as payment instruments, financing, cash management and risk provision.

Michiel Steeman, Involvation Interactive partner, says: “We see a strong need, especially amongst bankers, to increase their understanding of the supply chain issues that their clients are faced with. Through this simulation-based programme participants will experience the unpredictability and volatility when dealing with customers, suppliers and production. This uncertainty will have to be managed by taking the right decisions on items such as stock levels, lending limits, credit insurance limits, supplier selection, and many more.”

Following the Cool Connection launch at GTR Asia Trade Finance Week, the programme will be rolled out across a number of global financial centres, starting with Nyenrode Business Universiteit in Breukelen, and be featured at various other GTR events including the GTR Mena Trade Finance Week in Dubai in February 2013.

The Cool Connection is part of an incentive programme initiated by a consortium of manufacturers, banks, consultants and universities and which also involves the launch of a supply chain finance community.
