Bank of China has signed an agreement with Ecobank Ghana to grow trade and investment links between the two countries.

As part of the agreement, staff at Bank of China will be seconded to work on selected desks at Ecobank Ghana.

Ecobank executive director, corporate banking, Albert Essien adds: “The pact will allow Bank of China to cater more pointedly to its clients in Africa by using the Ecobank platform, while enabling Ecobank to grow its China business.”

African exports to China have increased significantly in the past few years reaching US$30.14bn in 2008, according to Ecobank.
