The Andean Development Corporation (CAF) is set to take specific action to finance programmes and projects that will enhance trade relations between Latin America and the Asia-Pacific region.

 

CAF president and CEO Enrique Garcia spoke of these aims during the opening of the Latin American Pacific Basin Initiative forum arranged in Lima by the Peruvian ministries of foreign affairs and foreign trade, with the participation of representatives from Colombia, Costa Rica, Chile, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Mexico and Panama.

The Latin American Pacific Basin Initiative represents 11 countries, with a combined GDP of over US$1.4bn, 50mn inhabitants and foreign trade worth up to US$35mn.
