Misys Banking Systems has signed China’s Bank of Beijing to its treasury and capital markets software, Opics, and trade finance product, Trade Innovation.

Misys says the combined system will enable the bank to automate its STP treasury business, enhance its derivatives operations and offer improved trade finance services to corporate customers.

Zhao Rui An, vice-president at the Bank of Beijing, says: “We have become increasingly focused on our corporate customers, adapting and improving our operations to meet their needs more effectively. Implementing the Misys solution has enabled us to enhance our product offering, improve our services and realise new levels of operational efficiency.”

Implementation is expected to be completed in Q3 2005.

John Palmiero, head of sales, Asia, at Misys Banking Systems says the firm has been steadily increasing its footprint and knowledge in China, working with customers and partners to develop a good understanding of the market. The vendor signed Beijing City Commercial Bank to its Opics and Trade Innovation products last year.
