Mapfre, the Spanish insurance company, is due to start selling export credit insurance policies in Brazil in January 2007, says Jarco Imbassahy, credit superintendent at the company in Brazil.

 

Mapfre started its activities in Brazil in 1992 and already offers solutions such as life and credit insurance.

 

Besides Brazil, the Madrid-based insurer is present in Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia , Paraguay, Chile, Argentina and Uruguay in South America.
