Malaysia’s MMC Corp is leading a consortium that will build a 490km oil pipeline in Sudan valued at US$65.6mn. The consortium includes China’s Sinopec and the Oman Construction Co.
The project was awarded by Petrodar Operating Co, a joint venture between China National Petroleum (Nile), Petronas Carigali Oversea, Sudapet, Gulf Oil Petroleum and Al Thani Corp.
Petronas Carigali is the exploration arm of Malaysia’s state-owned oil and gas firm Petroliam Nasional.
Petrodar holds rights for the exploration and development of two oil blocks in Sudan.
The pipeline project is scheduled for completion by May 2005.
