Building economic resilience with trade
GTR East Africa 2020 took place virtually on October 1-2, once again welcoming support from a host of leading trade finance players alongside key supranational and industry bodies. Beginning an exciting new era for this long-running event series, 2020’s meeting utilised GTR’s bespoke virtual platform to deliver a comprehensive range of discussion content and unrivalled networking opportunities.
Participants joined a host of expert speakers to explore the latest trends impacting key trade sectors, from commodities and agribusiness, to the development of local manufacturing and value-add industry, and furthering digital innovation across physical trade and financing. Featuring a variety of high level content, practical guidance and interactive discussion formats, GTR East Africa 2020 once again welcomed record breaking participation, with a core focus on networking, collaboration and knowledge sharing. Join us again next year for more exciting and informative discussion on the horn of Africa’s trade landscape.
A big thank you to all of our speakers, supporters and participants who attended the live virtual event! We are delighted to provide full access to the digital platform, including it’s chat function, list of attendees and all on-demand recordings, up to April 2021 for those who registered to the live virtual event. 2020 Event Breakdown
With over 210 different companies represented, two of the largest sectors in attendance were corporates & traders (48%) and bankers & financiers (22%). Over 75% of all attendees held a senior to a c-level position.

Didn’t get to attend this year’s event?
Don’t worry – we’ve got your back! All of our virtual event discussions have been recorded, and guess what, we’ve made them free to access for anyone up until April 2021! All you need to do is provide an email address for access.
Unfortunately, you will not be able to benefit from the networking, chat functions, live polling or pose your questions live to a speaker – you will need to register for our live events to gain access to this.

ACCESS THE VIRTUAL EVENT
To access the virtual event platform to view the agenda and on-demand recordings you must first LOG IN to the event.
Returning users can log in with their work email address and password set up during the event. If you have forgotten your password, please select ‘Forgot password’ on the log in page to reset it.
For new users, click log in above, enter your work email. You will then be prompt to set up a new password.

ACT East Africa Virtual Treasury Forum
The Association of Corporate Treasurers opened the ACT East Africa Virtual Treasury Forum, which took place on September 30th in association with GTR East Africa 2020 Virtual. Hosted via GTR’s bespoke virtual event platform, a comprehensive one day agenda provided insight on the latest treasury challenges faced in 2020, and the strategies being implemented by a selection of international treasury experts.
