Indonesia’s trade finance community gathers in Jakarta for major finance conference
Global Trade Review (GTR), the leading publication for the trade, commodity and export finance community returned to Jakarta to host the Indonesia Trade & Commodity Finance Conference 2016, which took place at Grand Hyatt Jakarta on April 19.
Returning for its 6th year, the conference delivered an industry focused event to over 170 business leaders and provided unrivalled networking opportunities for domestic, regional and international financial institutions, global corporate and SMEs, policy makers and specialist trade finance experts.
The event welcomed Moekti Prasetiani Soejachmoen, Head, Mandiri Institute, who delivered the keynote address focusing on Indonesia’s potential for growth and the effects of the Chinese slowdown. Additional speakers also took to the stage, representing the likes of Samuel Sekuritas, Synergy Energy Labuan, Tricore Kapital Sarana, Asei and more.
“Indonesia currently faces numerous challenges from struggling commodities to the ever-changing regulatory landscape of the market. The timing of this event is significant to shed light on these issues, whilst also highlighting other opportunities and sectors that have potential for growth in the market” said Rosie Madderson, producer of the conference. “This event has received continued support from key players in the market and we’ve enjoyed holding numerous interesting discussions throughout the course of the day.”
Topics for discussion included innovations within the country’s corporate sector, the challenges which lie ahead for trading companies and the impact of trade regulations.
With so many high-level delegates in attendance, networking formed a key feature throughout the day. A networking lunch, evening drinks reception and specific networking platforms provided ample opportunity for anyone serious about doing business in the region to create new business contacts and build relationships with the market’s main players.
