Southern Africa Trade & Infrastructure Finance Conference 2018
Avani Victoria Falls Resort, Victoria Falls, Zambia
November, 21, 2018
GTR’s inaugural Southern Africa Trade & Infrastructure Finance Conference took place at Victoria Falls, Zambia, on November 21-22, 2018, welcoming a host of senior government representatives, sovereign and corporate borrowers, project sponsors, risk management specialists and financing experts.
With a speaker roster including the Permanent Secretary of the Zambian Finance Ministry, Bwalya Ng’andu, Zimbabwe’s High Commissioner to Zambia, Ambassador Gertrude Takawira, and Mukuli Chikuba, Deputy Governor of the Bank of Zambia, delegates gained direct insight on the initiatives being undertaken to facilitate trade and infrastructure investment in some of Southern Africa’s growth hot spots.
Following a stunning safari boat cruise along the Zambezi river on the eve of the event, a comprehensive 2 day agenda provided the latest business-critical information on trade and infrastructure investment opportunities in markets including Zimbabwe, Zambia and Botswana, while assessing challenges surrounding sovereign debt sustainability, and the role that can be played by the trade, export and ECA finance sector in stimulating economic growth across Southern Africa.
With overwhelmingly positive feedback received on the inaugural Southern Africa Conference, GTR’s return for the next instalment in 2019 promises a highly anticipated opportunity to connect with the key players in this exciting region.
