Russia’s trade finance community convenes in Moscow for Russia’s largest trade finance event

GTR, the global financial services information provider, were delighted to return to Moscow for the 7th Annual Russia Trade & Export Finance Conference to discuss current market conditions and future prospects for the region’s trade finance industry, which took place at the Baltschug Kempinski Hotel on February 11, 2014.

This one-day conference welcomed over 260 business leaders from across Russia and the wider region, and provide extensive networking opportunities for domestic and international financial institutions; local SME and global corporates; lawyers; policy makers, and specialist trade finance risk analysts.

The conference opened with a keynote address by the Managing Director and Chief Economist at Sberbank, Evgeny Gavrilenkov, who gave a presentation on the challenges that Russia is presently facing. As the biggest trade and export finance gathering in Russia, the conference brought together decision makers from some of the country’s biggest corporate players, including Severstal, Uralkali, Tatneft, Metalloinvest, Sibur and Ericsson to provide their unique insights into today’s market. The conference also attracted many local and international delegates from the banking and financial services sectors to discuss liquidity challenges, corporate demand for capital, the impact of changing global trade flows and specific industry case studies.
