Sustainability, tradetech, trade policy and the future of trade finance for Europe

GTR Europe returned to Paris on October 14, 2019, and welcomed a wide range of speakers to the stage to deliver expertise to over 230 trade and export finance business heads from across the European global trade industry.

The conference delivered a well-rounded outlook on Europe’s economic growth, trade concerns and priorities for developing a sustainable trade future. Expert speakers shared their insights on challenges and opportunities, while assessing a range of topics including the effect of geopolitical trends on the current trade finance landscape.

This year’s GTR Europe introduced a range of new highly interactive breakout groups, conference streams and networking initiatives that facilitated high-quality conversations and business development opportunities. Amongst the 12 in-depth discussions, themes for discussion included political risk, regionalisation vs. globalisation, regulation and compliance and sustainable supply chains, which encompassed detailed corporate and financier input. Trends in the insurance market and developing trade corridors were covered in Stream A, while in-depth round-table discussions on fintech solutions and blockchain interoperability were discussed simultaneously in Stream B. Delegates were also treated to a highlevel discussion on European trade policy developments by speakers from the European Parliament, the European Commission and the US Mission to the EU.

GTR Europe continues to be a key market gathering for European trade finance professionals wishing to stay in touch with the needs of the current and future leaders in the community, through extensive targeted networking and thought leadership opportunities.
