The Nigeria-Egypt Joint Commission is to be reactivated to clear the backlog of trade and other bilateral issues lingering between them.

A free trade agreement and partnership between cities and ports in both countries is to come on stream when the commission is reactivated and the ministries of commerce and trade from both countries have been directed to thrash out all outstanding trade issues.

Egypt has pledged its readiness to share development experience with Nigeria in the areas of agriculture, industry, oil, engineering, pharmacy and technology and has appealed to Nigeria to provide the enabling environment for Egyptian investments in the country.
