Lloyds Bank has appointed Andrew Charnley as its national sales director to lead its global transaction banking invoice and trade finance business for SMEs in the UK.

In the newly-created role, Charnley will lead teams across the country to provide working capital and risk management solutions to the bank’s SME client base.

Charnley joined Lloyds in 2014, and has held a number of positions since. In his most recent role he led the mid markets transaction banking business for London and Southeast UK.

Commenting on the department’s outlook, Charnley says: “We have invested heavily in our global transaction banking business to become more digitally advanced and meet more of our clients’ needs. This investment will continue in 2017 as we further our digital capabilities and product offering to help our clients.”

Prior to joining Lloyds, Charnely worked for Barclays and National Australia Bank.
