Canada’s ECA Export Development Canada (EDC) has appointed one of its longest-serving employees Jacques Lacasse as consular to the Canadian consulate in Shanghai.

In the role, Lacasse will be responsible for promoting economic relations between Canada and China.

Lacasse has more than 20 years of experience working at EDC structuring financial solutions to help Canadian exporters, particularly with some of the most important Canadian companies in the infrastructure sector.

“EDC’s representation in Asia exists to develop relationships and facilitate transactions with foreign customers and intermediaries of Canadian companies,” a spokesperson tells GTR.
