Afonso Reis e Sousa has left Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation to join Petrofac as group head of structured finance.

Reis e Sousa will join the firm’s head office in London, primarily supporting the group’s integrated energy services (IES) division, which provides infrastructure development and production enhancement services. In his new role, Reis e Sousa will be responsible for all project and structured finance solutions for the group’s investments.

He will report to Brendan Boucher, Petrofac’s group head of treasury, who is based in the United Arab Emirates.

Reis e Sousa was previously assistant general manager at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation’s oil and gas team in London. Before that, he was director at Taylor-DeJongh, where he was head of the firm’s London office and focused on the oil and gas sector.
