ABN Amro has appointed Maarten Terlouw as global head of energy within its energy, commodities and transportation (ECT) business.
Teerlouw will be based in Rotterdam, reporting to Harris Antoniou, global head of ECT. He replaces Marius Messer, who has been appointed head of strategic risk at the bank.
Terlouw joins ABN Amro from RBS in London, where he managed the global sector advisory group. During his time at RBS, he also worked as co-head of corporate finance for the Netherlands, following the bank’s acquisition of ABN Amro’s investment banking division in 2008. He previously worked in senior roles in ABN Amro's energy and resources sector advisory group.
“Maarten brings with him broad experience in corporate finance and sector advisory, and complex fund raisings across debt and equity capital markets. We are confident that he will be instrumental for the further successful development of our energy group and ECT as a whole,” Antoniou comments.
