SG launches Asia Pacific global capital markets platform

Société Générale Corporate & Investment Banking is set to launch a global capital markets (GCM) platform in Asia Pacific.

The Asian business will be led by Yves Jacob, and provide integrated debt and equity solutions to issuers willing to access public primary Euro markets.

Based in Hong Kong, Jacob jointly reports to Ashley Wilkins, head of capital raising and financing for Asia Pacific and Jean-Marc Giraud, global head of GCM based in Paris.

Jacob moves from his position as director of the French corporate origination team, based in Paris. He joined Société Générale in 2000 and has held various positions in the areas of media and telecoms finance, leveraged finance and capital markets.

According to a statement issued by the bank, the extension of global capital markets to the Asia Pacific region enhances the capital raising and financing service range in the region.

“The Asia-based team will add to the existing global network that spans across Europe, Americas and Middle East, and will provide solutions to corporations, financial institutions and public sector entities,” says the statement.
