Credit Agricole opens new Shanghai commodity finance platform

Last Updated March 24, 2010

Crédit Agricole CIB has opened a new transactional commodity finance platform in Shanghai.

The start up provides a wide range of services, including immediate and simplified access to tailor-made transactional commodity financing services, including renminbi lending.

Other features offered are short-term trade and pre-financing, structured inventory financing, borrowing base financing, related working capital to support underlying trade imports and exports to its customers in China and risk management and hedging products through the bank’s derivative teams in China.

The platform, part of Crédit Agricole CIB’s transactional commodity finance global network, will extend its financing solutions to large and niche Chinese commodity groups and traders.
