Nexi backs Indonesian telecoms

Last Updated April 08, 2010

Japan’s Nippon Export and Investment Insurance (Nexi) is providing a US$24mn buyer’s credit insurance to back Indonesia’s Telekomunikasi’s telecommunication project.

This comes after GTR reported that the Japan Bank for International Cooperation and Mizuho Corporate Bank had signed a US$60mn loan with the Indonesian company to begin work on the submarine optic-fibre telecoms project.

The loan agreement, which was signed on March 26, will cover a credit period of two years or more.

Nexi have pledged to continue its support of Japanese exports and investments to Indonesia and infrastructure projects in Asian countries.
