TradeBeam enhances global trade management suite

Last Updated September 02, 2009

TradeBeam, a leading provider of global trade management (GTM) software and services, has launched GTM 3.5, an enhanced global supply chain solution for GTM. The solution includes expanded language support for global trade content, enhanced automated export system (AES) functionality and other auditing features. The GTM 3.5 release also increases productivity with industry-leading GTM compliance processes.

TradeBeam’s GTM 3.5 release features expanded internationalisation and localisation language support for restricted party screening (RPS), simplifying the compliance process. The new internationalisation features create improved RPS matching capabilities under section 326 of the USA Patriot Act, including sales to foreign nationals and/or to foreign subsidiaries. Specifically, they provide enhanced Western European language handling for precise translation, allowing for straightforward matching of words using accent marks in restricted party lists, and accommodates other languages, including those requiring double-byte (as many Asian languages do), ultimately improving accuracy in screening.

GTM 3.5 also features detailed auditing and document archival capabilities, including historical product information for reporting and auditing purposes that are imperative for global trade businesses. With GTM 3.5’s product catalogue audit trail tool, new product versions and messaging are automatically assigned incremented version numbers, enabling users to view complete historical information, including if and when changes were made, and by whom. These detailed tracking capabilities allow users to better meet the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) audit trail requirements. Current and historical data can be easily exported to Microsoft Excel for further analyses, enabling increased business intelligence while streamlining the process for supply chain managers.

Enhanced AES filing capability delivers usability and accuracy to an otherwise complicated process, enabling exporters to more easily self-file to customs and border protection (CBP). With the AES filing feature, all error and warning messages are now recorded so users can take the right approach to file their shipments successfully. Filers also receive enhanced shipment data validation, message delivery, alerting and multiple filer IDs.

“Since GTM 3.5 is offered as software-as-a-service, current customers are upgraded automatically for software, processes as well as content as a part of their subscription,” says Graham Napier, president and CEO of TradeBeam. “This enables our customers to maintain an edge in this competitive marketplace by quickly and easily meeting government mandates.”
