RBS reveals new GTS team structure

The Royal Bank of Scotland has launched a new strategy for its global transaction services (GTS) division. Heading up combined international cash management, global trade finance and global merchant services and commercial cards team will be Ron Kalifa, head of global products, GTS.

Kalifa was previously managing director, global merchant services and commercial cards, and has 20 years of experience with the bank. His new role will be aimed at crossing selling across all divisions.

“Our primary concern is to focus on client efficiencies and how we can best serve the GTS client base,” explains Kalifa.

He adds: “Selecting a new team of high calibre individuals with relevant experiences demonstrates our commitment to providing a comprehensive transaction banking proposition. The new combined product strategy is designed to improve working capital efficiencies as clients come out of the global economic downturn. Our consultative approach will tailor solutions for each client’s needs and provide a ‘one stop shop’, that offers maximum efficiencies and economies of scale.”

The new global head of trade finance, GTS, is Adnan Ghani. He will be managing the trade portfolio, including trade services, trade finance and supply chain finance, incorporating the MaxTrad product across all services, and reporting to Kalifa. Before this role, Ghani was head of trade asset management as part of the trade finance team.

The new team also includes Raghav Prasad, head of global merchant services, GTS. He will manage the merchant acquiring businesses.
David Rockcliff, head of global commercial cards, GTS, will be heading the commercial cards business.

David Manson, head of international cash management, GTS, will be taking responsible for managing the bank’s provision of payments and global treasury and investment management solutions for both corporates and financial institutions.
