Executive changes at EDC

Export Development Canada (EDC) has announced that several senior executives are assuming new roles and taking on new assignments at the agency.

Kevin O'Brien, who has been with EDC for 22 years, has become senior vice president, finance and chief financial officer, having most recently occupied the position of senior vice president, financing products group. O"Brien is a former H.A Simons executive and has worked with the Bombardier group of companies

Stephen Poloz is replacing O'Brien as senior vice president, financing products group and will be closely involved in EDC’s underwriting activities. Poloz joined EDC in 1999 as chief economist and has also served as senior vice president, corporate affairs. He has worked with the Bank of Canada and was the managing editor of The International Bank Credit Analyst.

Peter Hall will report to Poloz in his new role as vice president and chief economist and reports to Mr. Poloz. Hall has been deputy chief economist at EDC for four years and has 20 years "experience in domestic and international economic analysis and forecasting.

Jim McArdle, senior vice president, legal services and secretary, will also have his responsibilities expanded to include corporate social responsibility
