Cohen joins syndications team at StanChart

Joshua Cohen has joined Standard Chartered Bank as director, syndications, where he will be responsible for primary loan distribution covering Europe, Africa and South Asia.

Cohen brings 20 years experience in emerging markets finance to his new position.

He moves from his previous role as deputy head of forfaiting and specialised finance at Nedbank in London. A replacement is being sought, comment sources at Nedbank.

He has previously worked at Banco Inverlat in London where he managed the bank's trading business. He also established Eurobrokers" emerging markets Eurobond desk in the early 1990s.

At Standard Chartered, he will be working with David Kempton, head of primary syndicate, who in turn reports to Hiren Singharay, head of syndications.
