Larsen & Toubro secures landmark export contract

Last Updated February 01, 2008

Larsen & Toubro has been awarded an order to manufacture and supply 22 hydrocracker and atmospheric residue desulphurisation reactors for the Kuwait National Petroluem Company's 'Clean Fuel Project 2020".

The order value is the equivalent of US$421mn and it is the largest ever order to be placed with a single manufacturer in the world for such critical reactors.

The Indian engineering company faced stiff competition from manufacturers in Japan and Italy.

L&T will manufacture the critical reactors in its Hazira works facilities. They are required to be delivered to the refinery in Kuwait by the third quarter of the financial year 2010 to 2011.
