BNPP makes key GTS appointments

BNP Paribas has made a number of new appointments to its global trade services (GTS) teams in Paris and Asia.

In the GTS central team based in Paris, Frric Tollu has been appointed head of GTS business development.  He reports to Pierre Veyres, global head of GTS. Tollu was previously head of global trade services for Asia Pacific.

Eric Henry has joined GTS as head of e-trade. His mandate is to develop further the e-banking product suite beyond the well-established Connexis solutions that allow the BNPP clients to deal with letters of credit, guarantees and financing matters, open account business, notably around the purchase order. 

Henry moves from HSBC, where he had been in charge of trade business support.

Richard Beaurenaut has been nominated as head of GTS Africa, near East and Turkey. In that new capacity, Beaurenaut will conduct the development of the trade business. He was previously leading the marketing development advisory team.

BNPP has also completed hiring for its global trade services supply chain management team. Heading up the Paris-based team is John Mc Quaid.

Bruno Lechevalier has been appointed as senior manager, supply chain management. He was previously in the structured trade finance team of HSBC, originally based in Paris before moving to Hong Kong in 2005 to look after the Asia Pacific region.

Jacques Bonfante has been appointed as senior manager, supply chain management. Bonfante has moved from ABN Amro where he held various positions, including senior manager for trade and supply chain management products.

In Asia, BNPP has finished the hiring process for its global trade services team. Patrick Lang has been appointed as head of GTS Asia-Pacific, based in Singapore. He reports to Pierre Veyres, global head of GTS. He has previously held management positions in the international network, particularly Italy, Hong-Kong, Singapore, Japan, and Spain before returning to Italy in 2005. His most recent position was head of coverage in Italy.

Taking responsibility for the Asia-Pacific region's supply chain business is Jacques Jouves. He has been appointed head of supply chain management, Asia-Pacific, and will conducting structured trade business across the region in conjunction with the bank's trade centre teams. He will report to Patrick Lang and John McQuaid.

Jouves has been a senior banker in Hong Kong for the past five years, and had also held different marketing positions across Asia.

Vincent Tcheng has been appointed as regional structuring and portfolio manager for Asia-Pacific, based in Singapore and reporting to Patrick Lang.

Tcheng has held a number of positions within the energy, commodities, export and project division (ECEP) in Paris. In Asia he has held roles such as head of commodity structured finance in Singapore and managing director for metals and mining in China.
