Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) has appointed Lloyd Caughey as its new head of trade finance.
The role has been newly created for Caughey and is part of the bank's broader initiative to increase its level of trade and related business in the region.
Caughey will be responsible for leading this initiative, and building the bank's offering to a target client market.
"It is my objective to build a team that will assist me in establishing ADCB as one of the, if not the leading provider of trade finance and services in the region,” Caughey tells GTR.
He has spent the last four years working at Barclays Bank, where he started up and led the bank’s trade finance business in the emerging markets.
He comments: “During my time with Barclays I was involved with numerous projects including the design and implementation of a trade finance operating system using China Systems Eximbills Enterprise system.
“I was also involved in working on Barclay’s integration of ABSA Africa and in setting up the Barclays India trade business.”
While at Barclays he was based in the UAE, and has previously been based in Johannesburg.
