Raiffeisenbank Croatia signs syndication

Last Updated August 11, 2008

Raiffeisenbank Croatia has secured a €100mn term loan facility via mandated lead arrangers The Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi UFJ, Commerzbank, DZ Bank, Intesa Sanpaolo, and Landesbank Baden-Wurttemberg.

The facility was arranged on a club basis, and it carries a tenor of two years. Repayment is due in bullet form.
Raiffeisenbank Croatia is majority-owned by Raiffeisen International Bank-Holding, a subsidiary of Raiffeisen Zentralbank Osterreich (RZB). It was the first foreign-owned bank to operate in Croatia.

This loan follows news that Raiffeisen International Bank-Holding is intending to set up a subsidiary bank in Kazakhstan. The bank already runs a leasing unit in Kazakhstan, set up in 2005. Through this new Kazakh subsidiary it will now be able to expand its banking business. The new subsidiary is to be based in Almaty, and will start operations in 2009.
