ACE American Insurance Company is to establish a representative office in Dubai. The office will operate under a national agency agreement with Omeir Investments, which will allow ACE to conduct market research and development activity in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), with the aim of developing its property and casualty business in the country. The office will also act as a liaison office for ACE’s multinational clients in Dubai.
The office is expected to be fully operational by the end of September 2008.
Ace has also appointed Mark Quinn as country manager for the UAE. Quinn’s previous role was as SVP – global property with ACE USA, and has industry experience in the areas of property, construction and power generation insurance.
He will be reporting to Giles Ward, regional managing director, Middle East and North Africa. Commenting on the appointment, Ward remarks: “We are very pleased to have Mark join the ACE MENA team – his experience and strong technical background are well-suited to the substantial opportunities for growth we see in the UAE, particularly in Abu Dhabi and Dubai; we are confident that ACE’s specialist expertise and product range will be of benefit to the market as a whole.”
