International law firm Thomas Cooper has appointed a new partner to its Singapore office.

Steffen Pedersen joins as part of the shipping and energy team. His experience covers collisions, charterparties, cargo claims, construction contracts and financing projects. He has spent his entire career in Asia and has particular expertise in relation to China acting both for and against major Chinese yards, financing institutions and state-owned and private companies. He has developed a particular expertise in investigations and obtaining security against counterparties in the Far East and particularly China. He was previously a partner at Wikborg Rein.

Thomas Cooper has also added two partners to its London office. Nick Humphreys and Sharon Fryer have in the employment and corporate groups respectively.
