Trade credit insurer Nexus CIFS has appointed Daniel Ismail as new business underwriter, and Callum Matthews as underwriting assistant.

Ismail joins Nexus CIFS after eight years at Euler Hermes UK, where he managed a portfolio of brokers and found and underwrote new business with a turnover up to £20mn. In his new role, he will be focusing on new business in the £15mn-£50mn turnover bracket.

Matthews is a recent graduate from the University of Sussex, who did work experience at Nexus CIFS earlier on in the year. He will report to James Steele-Perkins, director, single situation credit and political risks.

Sue Morley, the company’s client services director, says: “As the company goes from strength to strength I am delighted with these two further additions to the company. Danny and Callum respectively bring experience and enthusiasm to their specific roles and their appointments form part of our planned strategy to build a team in depth, extend our reach and capture more business.”

These new hires follow the appointment of two commercial underwriters, Gavin Brown and Phil Oldfield, at the beginning of July.
