ABN Amro has appointed Karin Kersten as global head of trade and commodity finance.

She takes over the position from Maarten Terlouw who, as global head of energy, commodities and transportation clients, had filled the role following the departure of Jan Maarten Mulder in July 2016.

Kersten was previously managing director, transaction banking at ING. She has also held positions at MeesPierson and McKinsey.

She will be based in Amsterdam.

Rutger van Nouhuijs, CEO of corporate and institutional banking says: “Karin is a highly experienced and energetic professional. She is exceptionally qualified to further build up our offering for our trade and commodity clients.”
