Russia’s export credit agency, Exiar, has opened its first international representative office in Minsk, Belarus.

Exiar has placed two managers in Minsk: office head Victor Doronkevich and office director Andrey Dovnarovich.

The team will work on developing business, including co-operating with Belarusian buyers and financial institutions, and Russian companies in the local market. It will also look for and monitor potential projects the ECA can get involved in.

“We are convinced that we can create the necessary incentives to move trade and economic ties between business groups from our two countries to an even higher level of quality. The businesses of Russia and Belarus should see eye to eye and work side by side,” says Exiar CEO Alexey Tyupanov.

Hanieh Ferdowsi, managing director for international business development, adds: “This is our first international opening, in a market we already know rather well, but we still see significant room for more business and enhanced relations. The local presence is invaluable – more importantly, in Belarus we are the first ECA to do so.”
