UniCredit has appointed Luca Corsini as global co-head of global transaction banking, alongside Jan Kupfer.

Corsini will be based in Milan and will report to the co-heads of UniCredit corporate and investment banking, Gianfranco Bisagni and Olivier Khayat. The new role will be effective from August 1.

Corsini was previously head of trade finance at UniCredit and succeeds Claudio Camozzo in his new role. Camozzo will retire at the end of July after almost 40 years in the group.

Prior to joining UniCredit in 2016, Corsini worked as head of trade finance for Emea at Deutsche Bank from 2010, and before that he was responsible for Deutsche’s trade finance business in Italy.

Prior to joining Deutsche Bank he held different positions in trade finance at ABN Amro, Barclays, Pirelli and SnamProgetti.

Commenting on the new appointment and the departure, Bisagni says: “We warmly thank Claudio for his outstanding commitment and valuable contribution for close to four decades.”

Corsini’s background, both in the banking industry and on the corporate side, is ideally qualified to match client expectations, he added.
