International law firm Dewey & LeBoeuf has ramped up its Middle East offering by opening up an office in Abu Dhabi.

The new office, the fourth for the firm in the region, will support green energy and insurance practices in the Middle East.

Banking, capital markets and corporate services such as project and infrastructure finance will also be advised from the office.

The office will be headed up by Stephen Jurgeson, a partner at the firm who will relocate from London.

Jurgeson has over 10 years’ experience working in the Middle East over a number of sectors, including power, infrastructure, oil and gas and clean energy.

“Our first priority is to service our existing customers and develop our growth areas of insurance and renewable and clean energy,” he tells GTR.

“Our opening in Abu Dhabi demonstrates the firm’s dedication to both our Abu Dhabi clients and our international clients engaging in business in Abu Dhabi and the Middle East region as a whole.”

“Being a major US firm with a global presence we have got a lot to offer over the number of other law firms that have opened in Abu Dhabi over the past few years,” he adds.
